B/D Meeting Minutes,
April 15, 05

DIRECTORS MEETING SEPTEMBER 25, 2006
Runny Y Restaurant, Klamath Falls, Or

  • Meeting was called to order at 9:12 PM  by President Herbert Holmes
  • Beverly Lambert moved to accept the 2006 Forum minutes, seconded by Sandra Milberg. Motion passed.
  • Beverly Lambert moved to accept the Treasurer’s Report, seconded by Sandra Milberg. Motion passed.  Herbert pointed out the 2006 expenses are a bit higher than in 2005..
  • The Directors agreed that $10,000 CD from the life membership to be rolled over for another year.  A CD in the amount of $20,000 to be taken out in December was brought up and the feeling was favorable for doing this.  Twenty four months ago we had a zero balance, and by putting money into a CD provides a safety factor.  The Directors feels it is good to start a precedent of putting money into a CD yearly.  The membership for 2007 is coming in early this year.
  • HA will lose Broughton & Broughton’s $5,000 sponsorship next year.  They were pleased with our participation and may still donate something next year.  Unless we are able to get another sponsor for this amount, the money will probably have to come out of our premium money for 2007.
  • Herbert stated that motels will be costing more for the 2007 Nationals Finals, between $4,000 to $5,000.
  • Herbert brought to the Directors the proposal of that all Directors work towards having a benefit trial, raffle, clinic or such to help raise money for the National.  It was felt that it was unfair to the Directors that have worked to have benefit trials to continue doing this if other Directors were not contributing.
  • It had been discussed on the Forum changing the date for paying memberships, after some discussion it was decided not to change the date.  Memberships are due January 1st of each year.
  • Herbert reported the planning for the 2007 Cattle National is going well.  The 2007 National Cattle Finals will be held May 8 – 13 at Torrington, Wy.
  • Beverly Lambert is working with next years National Finals Host Committee on the Sheep Committee .  Open and Nursery will run separately. It was mentioned that the entry for Nursery will be a large entry, possibly as many as 125 dogs.  The run back number will be discussed at a later date..
  • Klamath Falls has indicated that they might want to be considered for the 2009 Nationals Finals.
  • Geri Abrams of Mountainair, NM has shown interest in hosting the 2008 National Finals.  Further discussion on this matter.
  • Beverly moved to adjourn Sandra 2nd - Meeting adjourned at 10:00 PM
