Eye Clinic

Eye exams:   Dates of eye clinic are Sept. Wed. the 23rd & Thur. the 24th..  All ABCA registered dogs are free.  Dogs entered in the Nursery or Open Trials take precedence over other dogs, but all are welcome as time permits. Litters and puppies are encouraged. All dogs must be examined by a certified Diplomat of the College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (DACVO) either before participating in a Finals Trial or at the eye clinic during the Finals.  Even dogs who have DNA clearance for CEA must be examined, since the exam also screens for conditions other than CEA.  Dogs over 8 years of age does not have to be eye tested.. The certificate that is issued will be good for 25 months from the date of the examination. The permission slip signed by the competitor to allow information on CEA & PRA to be sent to the USBCHA secretary will suffice for 25 months.  Amy Coapman is in charge of eye clinic, 530-436-2443   raynamy@4fast.net.

Optigen 20/20
Clinic
We are pleased to offer an Optigen 20/20 clinic at the National Sheepdog Finals on the afternoon/evening of 9/24 (Thursday) and during the day on 9/25 (Friday).  Blood samples submitted through this clinic will receive a 20% discount on the cost of the CEA DNA test, with an additional 5% discount from Optigen if you fill out your paperwork online and bring it to the clinic. Please contact me if you need additional information, or visit Optigen's website at www.optigen.com. This clinic is in addition to Dr. Acland's eye clinic on 9/23 and 9/24 sponsored by ABCA. Dogs running in the Finals must have an eye exam by a certified DAVCO every 25 months even if they have been DNA tested for CEA, because the visual exam can detect other problems.  Amy Coapman  raynamy@4fast.net.
