I got Pete from Teddy Hill when he was a year and a half old.  He was a started dog.  The main problem I had training him was when he got in the pen with cattle he just wanted to eat them up.  He would bite on the head, heel or front foot. He was a normal type dog when it came his outruns.  He puts fear into both cattle and sheep whenever he works.  I have won several trophies with Pete in the last four years.  He finished 16th last year in the open in the National Finals due to a bad handler, but I did better this year.  Pete enjoys his work and is a willing worker, always aiming to please his trainer.  He has a very gentle disposition.

I bought Jim from Wilton Goligher, at the 2000 Welsh Nationals. His Sire was Wilton's "old" Glen. Wilton had him started and was beginning his training for the following Nursery season. Jim is a big baby, comfortable anywhere, pleasant to work with and more than willing to move anything when asked, quickly! He has  not been running  in Open long, cows or sheep, so we don't have a long list of  achievements  behind us.  He's still young at 4 yrs, and is just now beginning to come into some maturity and seasoning.  I look forward to him having many good trialing  years to come.

Jim is qualified for the 2002 sheepdog finals in Tennessee.  Maybe we can beat the "cowdog/sheepdog" myth!

I bought Chris when he was about 7 months old from Cindy Vondette. I already had Charlie, a full brother to him from a previous litter, who was really working. Cindy said that she had another one, and I replied that I wanted him. I was just starting to trial with Charlie and thought that having another dog coming along would double my chances. Cindy's Peg had already produced some outstanding trial dogs ( Angie Coker's Sam) and I thought that I should go with what had already been proven. Bob Roe's Scott had run well in both sheep and cattle trials. Chris went right to work at 7 months. This was against everyone's advice but he was so keen that I just couldn't leave him in the pen. I entered him in his first trial at 10 months of age. I ran him in the ranch and pro-novice classes all last summer and he edged out older brother Charlie to win Mid-States Stock Dog Association and the Arkansas Stock Dog Association "High Point Ranch Dog " of 2001. I work the 2 dogs together almost every day and Chris is always trying to outdo his older brother. I moved both dogs into the open classes in October of last year and didn't get any open cattle points with Chris before year end. I run him in both sheep and cattle trials. He is very serious and determined in his work. I use him to gather cattle from pastures and to sort cattle in the pens and he is very easy to teach something new. He will be 3 yrs. old in Sept. of 2002..
